Forum registration is fixed!
Tue 30 Jun 2009, 2:17 AM
Due to issues of indeterminate origin, forum registration was knocked down for an extended period of time. But that's all gone now, as we have shuffled away from reCaptcha back to question-answer verification. If any of the visitors to this site stumble upon issues relating to these (or any other) registration systems, do not hesitate to send an email to sanfam@firstones.com. I'll work to fix it as promptly as I am able.

Apparently, our captcha system has been broken for an indeterminate period of time, preventing registrations and anonymous forum scouring.
Now that we're aware of this problem, time can be put into fixing it. Keep an eye on this post for updates.

Last Chance for B5 Miniatures ?
Thu 21 May 2009, 3:19 PM
Some may remember the Babylon 5 Fleet Action table top games by Agents of Gaming from several years back, and the metal Miniatures of Babylon 5 ships that accompanied them.
When AOG closed down, I thought that all Babylon 5 Miniatures were gone as well. It turns out, that late last year Ironwind Metals managed to get a license to manufacture more of them. Their license will expire next month, and they have no intention to renew it. When that happens, the last chance to acquire these models with disappear. Before that happens, I figured I should share the link with everyone here:

Anniversary of the Column "The Birth of the Babylon 5 Story"
Thu 26 Mar 2009, 3:13 PM
In 1999, J. Michael Straczynski allowed his original notes on Babylon 5 to be released via his Last Word column in the Babylon 5 Magazine (Vol. 2, Issue 9). These notes were the first written record of Babylon 5, made moments after he had his inspiration for the series while taking a shower.
Though the magazine is long gone, on this, the 10th anniversary of this column's publication, he wanted to share the origins of Babylon 5 again. While many fans saw them when they were originally published, he realizes that many more have not.
In addition to the notes, there is a brief introduction that formed part of that column.

Some mod updates
Mon 2 Feb 2009, 10:22 AM
Just because it's been 7 months since the latest news posting, I figured I'd round up some of the latest B5 modding news:
B5:X3-TC has (As it's name implies) moved over to the X3-Terran Conflict engine. While the updates to the engine may appear minimal to the end user, they add enough updates to the back end to warrant the change in engines. We're assured a new video is on it's way, but to tide us over, here's a shot of Babylon 5 in game as compared to Babylon 5 TLT:

Babylon 5 - War Without End (HW2 TC) has been continuing to progress with eyecandy goodness. Most recently, CnlPepper has unveiled his new jump point:

Lost Tale News
Sat 17 Nov 2007, 11:55 PM
Every year at orycon for the past eight years Gareth Von Kallenbach (http://www.sknr.net and http://www.rottentomatoes.com/author-3139 ) has a two hour panel on upcoming movies and television. This is the segment of this session that relates to Babylon 5. I will post his other bits later tonight.
I have news of the future of Lost Tales. WB had set two expectations, number of sales for the two stories to make money and a pie in the sky expectation that they would like to see. Sales have far exceeded both of these expectations. The next two stories are a go and JMS will have a slightly larger budget to work with. This will be needed as we will be seeing Garibaldi and Londo, and their story is more CGI heavy. And, down the road, don't be surprised if we see what happens with Lennier...
